| Dersin Amacı | The aim of this course is to provide students with an understanding of the design and application of energy efficient heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) systems in buildings and industrial facilities. This course introduces the basic HVAC concepts of heating, cooling, humidity control, air distribution and air quality, and teaches how to optimize these systems in terms of energy efficiency and comfort. Students learn how to apply basic engineering principles such as thermodynamics, fluid mechanics and heat transfer to HVAC systems. At the same time, system design and performance analysis are conducted, focusing on the operating principles and selection criteria of various HVAC equipment (e.g. boilers, chillers, fans and air conditioning units).
